 Plants in the rain forest include Liana vine,orchids, banana tree,coconut tree,  bougainvillea vine, philodendrons, ferns and bromeliads. To ensure survival in their biome, plants have  certain characteristics.  The weather is hot and wet so trees do not need thick bark to slow down moisture loss, but have thin, smooth bark.  Some plants roots are not in soil, but plants get their food from, air and water.Liana is a vine that grows  into the tree canopy so its leaves get more sunlight. The reason they do better in this biome is because they need the hot, wet, weather in the rain forest to stay alive. If you would  had get stuck in biome, with nothing to eat you can make you something out the plants.
